Software Engineer

Systems Engineering Solutions, Inc. (SESI) is looking for a full-time software engineer to work on a research project at Old Dominion University.  The ideal candidate will have excellent programming skills, the ability to translate user requirements into well thought out, intuitive database applications, and the discipline to be able to work in an environment with minimal supervision.  The candidate should be able to look at a problem and be able to choose the right technology to most effectively solve the problem.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years experience developing complex software applications in either C# or Java
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar field, or equivalent work experience
Expertise with database design and implementation (MS SQL Server or equivalent)
Strong knowledge of web technologies like HTML, javascript, AJAX and XML
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills

Desired Knowledge/Skills

ASP.NET 2.0
Demonstrated understanding of design patterns
.NET 3.5 and WPF
